What’s Included in the Michigan Coast Guard Boat Registration Search
This search will include information in categories labeled “Vessel Documents and Certifications,” “Tonnage Information,” “Service Information,” “Vessel Particulars,” and “Vessel Information.”
“Vessel Documents and Certifications” includes when the vessel’s Certificate of Documentation was issued as well as when it will expire.
“Tonnage Information” covers the vessel’s tonnage, including its Gross Tonnage and Net Tonnage in addition to Cargo Authority (should that be applicable).
“Service Information” includes the vessel’s service status, the date it was out of service as well as who last removed it from service.
The “Vessel Particulars” include its endorsement (referred to as “Service”) as well as its length, breadth, depth, Build Year, and any alternate VINs.
The “Vessel Information” is its name, Primary Number/Official Number, HIN/Hull Identification Number, flag, and call sign among others.
What’s Not Included in the Search: Owner’s Information
The Managing Owner’s name and address will not be revealed in this search or in any other public database. In 2018 that information was removed.
It is possible to find the identity of the Managing Owner through our site. You can also discover the complete ownership history of the vessel as well as any liens/encumbrances of a Documented vessel with an Abstract of Title.
