“You mean I have to do this again?” That may not be how every vessel owner reaches when they find out that they have to renew their vessel registration, but we’ve heard similar versions of this sentiment for many years. Yes, it’s true. You do have to renew your vessel registration. In fact, you have to do it once a year. As with so many other parts of vessel documentation, however, the Maritime Documentation Center can make boat registration renewal easier too.
Fast Boat Registration Renewal
This might just be the most common use of our site. That’s why we’ve made it as easy as possible to get your vessel registration renewed. In fact, if you go to our site, you’ll find that the homepage literally is the renewal option. You don’t have to look for the form: if you’re on our home page, you’ve found it. Additionally, you won’t have to fill out every single blank, either. Just fill in the ones that have been marked with the little asterisk and you’ll be good to go.
Rush Processing
Summer doesn’t last forever. Sure, during the dog days in the middle of July, it can seem like it will always be warm and wonderful. However, the end of summer can come faster than you might think. Those are just some of the reasons that many of our customers opt for “rush processing.” What that means is that, for a fee, your form will be put at the top of the queue. When we send information along to the authorities, yours will go first. It’s one more way that we can expedite the process for those who need their renewal done stat.
Renew for Years to Come
In the opening paragraph, we said you have to renew your registration annually, which is true. However, you don’t necessarily have to if you get your registration renewed through the Maritime Documentation Center. See, we know what a pain that can be (and moreover, what a real pain it can be to forget or misplace your renewal, then having to go through the entire reinstatement process). So, if you’d like, you can renew your documentation for years to come. You can even renew your documentation for up to five years in advance. With all of the worry that can come with having a vessel, it’s great to be able to have one less thing to worry about.
Renewal and Beyond
You don’t have to wait for your registration to almost be ready to expire before you renew it for multiple years. You can do it sooner. If you have any questions about these forms, which ones are right for you, when you should send them in, and so forth, we’re always glad to help. You can send us an email or give us a phone call. Then, our professional staff will happily sit down with you and walk you through the process. For more information, call us at (800) 535-8570.
